Hotspots
Universities, hospitals, coffee shops, airports and hotels... many businesses have hotspots to provide wireless LAN service. Either for free or a fee, it's a popular way to offer customers a service they've grown to expect. Most new laptops come wi-fi certified and can send and receive data anywhere a wireless LAN signal is available.

VoIP
Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is exactly what it sounds like, a way of transporting voice conversation over a data network using internet protocol (IP). A telephone call is broken down into digital packets and then routed over the IP network. You might wonder why a business would want their phone system to be VoIP. Cost Savings! Using VoIP, a business can avoid expensive long distance charges while reducing the number of leased lines. There is also a labor cost savings because rather than seperate networks for voice and data they are combined to create one network, which eliminates some administrative cost.

Wi-Fi:
Wi-Fi is the high-speed wireless LAN that allows PDA's and Laptop's to connect to the internet via 802.11 frequencies. Wi-Fi works within 100 meters so users are free to move around the office, campus or home with their PDA or laptop and still have access.
